SALEM, NH- The Manchester Monarchs on Sunday released two players from their 2002 preseason roster. One of the players was assigned to the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey league.
Sent to Reading was wing Jeff Giuliano (Nashua, NH). Also released by the Monarchs was wing Leon Hayward (Seattle, WA).
The Manchester Monarchs 2002 preseason roster consists of 22 players (12 forwards, seven defensemen, and three goaltenders) after the latest round of cuts.

The Manchester Monarchs wrapped up their exhibition schedule with a 3-2 setback vs. the Lowell Lock Monsters on Saturday. The game was played in front of 1,800 fans at the Salem ICEnter in Salem, NH. The Monarchs completed their 2002 preseason schedule with a 1-2-1 record.
The Monarchs open their second season of American Hockey League action at the Verizon Wireless Arena when they renew their regular season rivalry with the Lock Monsters next Friday. The puck drops at 7:35 p.m. on October 11. Friday's Home Opener will also be broadcast live on WMUR Television with Charlie Sherman serving as the play-by-play host.
