Monarchs Honored By Business New Hampshire Magazine

MANCHESTER, NH – Business New Hampshire Magazine recently named the Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, the winner of this year's Tourism/Hospitality Business of the Year Award.

The Monarchs organization was one of six New Hampshire companies honored for outstanding civic contributions in addition to exceptional performance within their respective industries. The five other honored companies included:

Business Services — College Bound Movers in Amherst

Education/Non-profit — Easter Seals New Hampshire in Manchester

Financial Services/Insurance — Ocean National Bank in Portsmouth

Real Estate/Construction — Laconia Area Community Land Trust in Laconia

Retail/Wholesale — Eastern Propane and Oil in Rochester

The Monarchs, approaching their fifth year of operation, are the youngest organization to ever receive the award. This is the 15th year of the recognition program.

Alison Pitman Giles, President and CEO of Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, was also named the 2005 Business Leader of the Year by the magazine and the New Hampshire Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives. Giles was honored for her 25-year record of professional achievement in hospital administration and her commitment to non-profit efforts throughout the state.

The Monarchs will receive their 2005 NH Business of the Year award at a luncheon planned Tuesday, May 24 at the Radisson Hotel at the Center of New Hampshire.
