--- The Wolves battled back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Houston Aeros,
5-3, and win the West Division Semifinal, 4-games-to-1
--- Left wing BRIAN MALONEY tallied the game-winner with less than two
minutes remaining in regulation
--- Forwards LONNY BOHONOS (2A), CORY LAROSE (G, A), TOMMI SANTALA (G, A)
and BEN SIMON (2A) all notched multiple points
--- Goaltender KARI LEHTONEN recorded 26 saves on 29 shots

--- KARI LEHTONEN: Shares first in the league with four wins and one shutout
... Ranks second in the AHL with a .952 save percentage and a 1.38
goals-against average ... Currently on a three-game winning streak ... Last
Tuesday's game marked the first time this postseason he surrendered more
than two goals ... Named the Finnish Elite League's MVP in 2002 after
leading Jokerit Helsinki to the championship as the league's youngest goalie
at age 18
--- TOMMI SANTALA: Tied for the team-lead with two goals and four points in
five games ... Notched all of his points in the last three games ... Shared
first on the Wolves with six assists and ranked fifth with seven points in
10 games last postseason ... Led HPK Hameenlinna and ranked second in the
Finnish Elite League with six goals and 12 points in 13 playoff games in

--- LONNY BOHONOS: Leads the team with four assists and shares first on the
Wolves with four points in five games ... Currently on a three-game point
streak ... Paced Zurich of the Swiss Elite League with eight assists and 11
points in 11 games during the playoffs last year ... Led the Swiss Elite
League with 21 points (13G, 8A) in 16 postseason games to help Davos win the
league championship in 2002
--- J.P. VIGIER: Posted three points (G, 2A) in his last two games after
being held without a point in his previous three contests ... Collected 12
points (6G, 6A) in 16 games to help the Orlando Solar Bears win the IHL's
Turner Cup in 2001 and a postseason career-high 14 points (7G, 7A) in 21
games to help the Wolves win the 2002 Calder Cup
--- CORY LAROSE: Matched a postseason-high two points (PPG, A) on Tuesday
after being held without a point in his previous three games ... Shares
first on the team with four points (G, 3A) and a +3 plus/minus rating in
five games ... Tied for second on the Hartford Wolf Pack with six assists
and ranked third with 10 points in 14 playoff games last year
--- DEREK MacKENZIE: Registered a goal last Tuesday after being held without
a point in his previous two games ... Led the club with a postseason
career-high seven goals and tied for first with a playoff career-most eight
points in 10 games last year
--- KARL STEWART: Shares fourth with three points (G, 2A) in five games ...
Recorded two goals and five points in 10 playoff games last season, his
rookie year
WOLF TRACKS
--- Chicago has won three straight series against Houston, going on to
capture the league title in each of its previous series victories (2000 and
2002).
--- The Wolves notched three power-play goals in the last two games after
being held without one in each of the first three games of the series.
--- Chicago held Houston to just two power-play goals in 28 opportunities;
the Wolves rank second in the league on the penalty kill at 92.9 percent.
--- The Wolves surrendered three goals on Tuesday after holding the Aeros to
just four markers in the first four games of the series.
ROUND TWO
This marks the eighth consecutive time the Wolves have advanced past the first round of the playoffs. Chicago has notched a 4-4 mark in round two of the postseason, continuing on to the league finals each time it has advanced past the second round.
NOTABLE
This marks the second time in franchise history the Wolves and Mighty Ducks have met in the postseason. After losing Game 1 of the 2002 Western Conference Qualifying Series, Chicago battled back to defeat Cincinnati, 2-games-to-1, and go on the win the Calder Cup Championship. Current Ducks goaltender Frederic Cassivi and defenseman Kurtis Foster helped the Wolves capture that championship.
