Monarchs Honor Those Who Serve With American Pride Night

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, announced on Tuesday that the team will wear specialty police inspired jerseys to honor those who serve our country, state and local communities through American Pride Night at the Verizon Wireless Arena. On Saturday, February 20, the Monarchs will recognize our police, fire and military service men and women when they host the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m.
The Monarchs Care Foundation, the charitable arm of the Monarchs, will give away nine jerseys through a raffle and 22 jerseys will be available through a silent auction, live auction and an online auction with proceeds benefiting the New Hampshire Explorers Program. The first 3,500 fans in attendance on February 20 will receive a raffle card upon entry. Three raffle numbers will be announced during each period. The fans whose numbers match those announced during the game will each win a game-worn jersey. Greg Kretschmar from Rock 101's Greg and the Morning Buzz will emcee the live auction and run the on-ice intermission activities.
The entire evening will be geared around recognizing those police, fire and military service men and women who voluntarily risk their lives for us every day.
"The police as well as the military and fire in New Hampshire and throughout our country serve and protect us each and every day," explained Monarchs Senior Vice President Cheryl Abbott. "wearing these jerseys and honoring those who risk their lives for us is just one small way we can show our appreciation for all that they do for us."
New Hampshire Explorers, ages 14-21 who are interested in a career in law enforcement, participate in a variety of activities throughout the year, including law enforcement training, competitions and community service activities, such as traffic and security control.
On Friday, January 22, the Monarchs will travel to Hartford to face-off in a rematch against the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center in a 7:00 p.m. tilt.
