Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, N.H. - No tricks for the Manchester Monarchs this Halloween, as they treated themselves to a 3-1 win over the Brampton Beast, Wednesday night in the SNHU arena.

The Monarchs (4-3-0-1) scored three unanswered goals to overcome an early 1-0 deficit and defeat the Brampton Beast (3-3-1-0).

The Beast scored the first goal of the game just over the halfway mark of the first period, as Aaron Luchuk scored his second goal of the year. A quick end-to-end transition followed by passes from David Pacan and Brandon Marino, allowed Luchuk to sneak the puck past Monarchs goaltender, Charles Williams, to give the Beast a 1-0 lead.

The Monarchs answered at 18:54 of the first period, as Sam Kurker scored his third of the season. Ryan Kujawinski took a shot on a 2-on-1, that snuck past the arm of Brampton goaltender, Etienne Marcoux, where Kurker tapped in the rebound and tied the game, 1-1.

The Monarchs struck again, when Tony Cameranesi scored his 7th goal of the season with 2:59 remaining in the second. Assisted by Nick Moutrey and David Kolomatis, Cameranesi received a pass from behind the net and riffled a shot past Marcoux, giving the Monarchs their first lead of the game, 2-1.

Nic Pierog beat out an icing call and was rewarded, scoring an empty net goal off a pass from Michael Doherty with 37 seconds remaining in the game, giving the Monarchs a 3-1 victory.

The Monarchs return to action Friday, November 2nd at 7 p.m., when they take on the Newfoundland Growlers. For tickets, Season Memberships and group tickets, please contact the Monarchs front office at 603-626-7825.
