WALLEYE NOTES

Overtime win, big offense and home opening highlight week: Toledo opened its three win week with a 4-3 overtime win at Cincinnati when TJ Hensick scored 56 seconds into the fourth period. The offense revved up to the tune of a season high seven goals Friday night in Fort Wayne. Dylan Sadowy led the charge with a pair of goals. The Walleye opened the Huntington Center Saturday night with a hard fought 3-2 win over the Komets. Hunter Smith potted the go-ahead goal ahead 7:21 into the third period.

Open the doors: Saturday night set a new Opening Night attendance record as the Walleye hosted 8,363 fans to the Huntington Center. It marked the 10th straight season the Walleye have opened up the home portion of the schedule with a sellout.

Hensick with a monster week: Forward TJ Hensick scored the game-winning goal on Wednesday night in Cincinnati to jump start his week. Friday night, the 32-year-old posted a four point night with another goal and three assists. He capped the week with the first goal Saturday night plus another helper. On the season, Hensick is pacing the Walleye in scoring with 10 points (3G, 7A) in the seven games played this season.

Overtime fun time: Toledo skated in three overtime games in the first four contests this year, the fastest to three past regulation games in Walleye history. The 2009-10 team also appeared in three overtime games over its first six contests and went on to a Walleye record 17 overtime games played (9-2 in OT, 1-5 in shootouts).

Three game week: Toledo starts its week Tuesday morning at Kalamazoo. The Walleye play the Wings the most of any team this year with twelve matchups on tap. Friday and Saturday night the Walleye will welcome in the Idaho Steelheads for back to back games. Toledo will travel to Boise for three straight against Idaho in January.
