Monarchs Assigned Alex Guptill

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach, Rich Seeley, announced today that forward, Alex Guptill, has been reassigned to the Monarchs by the Ottawa Senators (NHL).

Guptill, 23, played in 24 games with the Evansville IceMen (ECHL) this season, scoring 13 points on nine goals and four assists, earning 23 penalty minutes. Guptill also played in three games with the Binghamton Senators (AHL), scoring one point on one assist.

The Newmarket, Ontario native was drafted by the Dallas Stars in Round 3 (77th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft out of the University of Michigan, where he played for three seasons. As a Wolverine, Guptill played in 110 games, scoring 94 points on 44 goals and 50 assists. After his first season, Guptill was named the NCAA (CCHA) Rookie of the Year.

Guptill, a 6-foot-3, 174-pound left shot was traded by the Dallas Stars to the Ottawa Senators as part of the deal that brought Jason Spezza to Dallas.

Guptill and the Monarchs are back in action Friday, January 22 (7 p.m.) when they visit the Adirondack Thunder for the first of a three-game series with their division rivals, with Saturday and Sunday's games being held in Manchester.
