Monarchs Announce VIP Cup Logo Design Contest

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, in partnership with the Portland Pirates and VIP Parts, Tires & Services, have introduced a VIP Cup Logo Design Contest to commemorate the inaugural VIP Cup which will be awarded to either the Monarchs or Pirates at the conclusion of the 2012-13 season, Monarchs President Darren Abbott announced on Monday.
The number of games the Monarchs and Pirates will face-off in during the 2012-13 is still to be determined. The team with the best record following those match-ups will be the winner of the inaugural VIP Cup.
Fans (one entry per person) will be asked to download a template from the Monarchs website, www.manchestermonarchs.com or www.portlandpirates.com, and create their best logo design. All entrants must agree to the official rules prior to submitting their artwork. The logo should contain aspects of the Monarchs, Pirates and VIP Parts, Tires & Service logos. All submissions must be received at the Monarchs office or Pirates office by Friday, July 13.
The Grand Prize winner of the contest will receive four (4) tickets to every VIP Cup game in both Manchester and Portland, the opportunity to drop a ceremonial first puck at a VIP Cup game in either Manchester or Portland and a $100 VIP Parts, Tires and Service Gift Card.
"We look forward to seeing what our fans come up with for a design," explained Abbott. "We have very creative fans, as does the Pirates, so it will be fun to see the designs and it's a great way for them to be involved with the introduction of the VIP Cup."
Logo designs may be submitted via mail, email or through either team's Facebook page and must be received by Friday, July 13. Entries will be narrowed to four finalists and then fans will then be able to vote for their favorite design. The Grand Prize winner of the contest will be announced on Friday, July 27.
