Kings Re-Sign Stoll and Fraser to Multiple Year Contracts

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, 2012 Stanley Cup Champions and parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have agreed to terms on a three-year contract with center Jarret Stoll and a new two-year contract with center Colin Fraser, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Stoll, who turned 30 yesterday, recorded 21 points (6-1521) and 60 penalty minutes in 78 regular season games with the Kings in 2011-12. He added five points (2-35) and 18 penalty minutes in 20 playoff games, including the overtime game-winner in the series clinching Game 5 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Vancouver Canucks.

The 6-foot-1, 213-pound native of Melville, Saskatchewan is now signed with the Kings through the 2014-2015 season. He has led the Kings in faceoff winning percentage in each of his four seasons with the Kings, since being acquired from the Edmonton Oilers (with Matt Greene) on June 29, 2008.

The eight-year NHL veteran spent his first four full NHL seasons with the Oilers (2003-2008). In 593 career NHL regular season games (with Edmonton and Los Angeles) Stoll has recorded 317 points (119-198317) and 448 penalty minutes. In 55 career NHL playoff games he has 19 points (7-1219) and 46 penalty minutes. Stoll, who won a Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2011-12, has appeared in one other Stanley Cup Final (2006 with Edmonton).

Since 2007-08 Stoll has averaged playing in 78 games. He has appeared in all 82 regular season games twice in his career (2005-06 and 2010-11).

Fraser, 27, had eight points (2-68) and 67 penalty minutes in 67 regular season games with the Kings this past season, his first in Los Angeles. He also appeared in 18 of the Kings 20 postseason games, totaling two points (1-12) and four penalty minutes for the Stanley Cup Champions.

The Kings acquired Fraser from Edmonton for Ryan Smyth and a seventh-round selection in the 2012 NHL Draft on June 26, 2011. Because of off-season surgery, Fraser was a non-roster player and out of the line-up until he was activated from that list and made his Kings debut vs. Vancouver on November 10. The 6-foot-1, 191-pound native of Surrey, British Columbia, entered the line-up that night and went on to play in all remaining 67 regular season games for the Kings.

Fraser was the Kings nominee for the 2012 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, awarded annually by the Professional Hockey Writers Association (PHWA) to a player who exhibits the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to ice hockey.

Selected in the third-round (69th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Fraser has recorded 49 points (18-3149) and 235 penalty in 291 career NHL regular season games with the Kings, Oilers and Chicago Blackhawks. He was also a member of the Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks in 2010. In 23 career NHL postseason games, he has recorded two points (1-12) and six penalty minutes.
