Molinari's Blast Lifts Grizzlies to Win Over Rascals

James Molinari's two-run home run in the seventh inning gave the Grizzlies a 3-1 lead, and they held on for a 3-2 win over the River City Rascals at T.R. Hughes Ballpark in O'Fallon, MO. The win was just the fifth in 14 tries against the Rascals.

The Grizzlies improve to 2-3 on the year, while River City drops to 3-2.

Layne Meyer started and picked up the win for the Grizzlies. Meyer went 6 1/3 innings, giving up two runs, both earned on just four hits. He struck out seven while walking just a single batter. Meyer is now 1-0 on the season. Matt Smith picked up his second save, pitching a perfect ninth inning.

Marc Nuebauer took the loss in relief for River City. Nuebauer gave up two runs in an inning and one-third.

The Grizzlies and Rascals will continue the Sonic Crosstown Clash tomorrow night with the third game of the three-game series. Kyle Yost goes for the Grizzlies.
