Milwaukee Wave News Release

After a big win against the arch-rival Chicago Mustangs on New Year's Eve, your Six-Time Champion Milwaukee Wave face another division foe in the St. Louis Ambush this Saturday afternoon at 1pm at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

"We're coming off a really great game against Chicago and look to carry that momentum into Saturday's game against St. Louis." said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "We've been struggling with consistency as a team this season but Coach Fontana, Coach Vorberg and I have really stayed on the guys about that. We've had a good week of practice and we're not taking St. Louis lightly. It's our building, it our home game, it's our fans watching us and we owe it to them to get the job done."

MKE WAVE MIDFIELDER, NUMBER 26, IAN BENNETT NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK!

Ian Bennett was announced as the Player of the Week, for Weeks Nine and Ten of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) season. Bennett has earned a spot on the Team of the Week four times this season, but this is his first Player of the Week award.

Bennett scored the first goal and last goal of the game, plus four more in between, as his team defeated the Chicago Mustangs on New Year's Eve. The win put the Wave within a game of playoff position in the Central Division and brought Milwaukee's record to 5-5 on the season.

"Big kudos and thank you to the entire team, coaches and all the fans," said Bennett. "They all allow me to my thing when they give me the ball and can't thank them enough."

Bennett leads the team and Major Arena Soccer League in goals with 29 so far this season. He also leads the league in Power Play Goals with 11 and is third in points with 33.

"Ian has been fantastic all season long," said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "He's been our most consistent scorer but also has a great supporting cast. To score two goals in an indoor game is very good but to score six in a game, that's unbelievable. Congratulations Ian!"
