January 5, 2017 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) News Release
KANSAS CITY (JAN. 6, 2017) - Ian Bennett was announced as the Player of the Week today, for Weeks Nine and Ten of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) season. Bennett has earned a spot on the Team of the Week four times this season, but this is his first Player of the Week award.
The Milwaukee midfielder scored the first goal and last goal of the game, plus four more in between, as his team defeated the Chicago Mustangs on New Year's Eve. The win put the Wave within a game of playoff position in the Central Division and brought Milwaukee's record to 5-5 on the season.
Bennett hopes to continue his strong play on Saturday as his side hosts the St. Louis Ambush at 1:05 p.m. CT. The match, along with all MASL matches this season, can be viewed on MASLtv, the league's new online streaming home.
Fans can find all the latest news, scores and information about the MASL at the league's new website, MASLSoccer.com.
The MASL was formed in 2014 by teams from the Professional Arena Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. The league represents the highest level of professional arena soccer in the world, and features teams across North America, with teams playing coast-to-coast in the United States and Mexico.
