Missoula PaddleHeads News Release

Ogden, UT. - After a hot start to the series offensively by the Ogden Raptors, the Missoula PaddleHeads once again kept the bats quiet through most of the contest Saturday at Lindquist Field in Game 4 of the series. After allowing a run in the bottom of the first, the Raptors offense would go quiet for a large portion of the game scoring only once more as Missoula would win its third consecutive game opposite Ogden by a final tally of 6- 2.

The PaddleHeads bullpen would be outstanding down the stretch for Missoula allowing only one hit over the final 3 2/3 innings of the ballgame. In the end it was Mark Simon who once again shut the door in the late innings earning a four-out save. The Houston native is now tied for the team lead in saves with 5 on the season.

Starting pitcher Matt Mogollon also was effective in 5 2/3 innings allowing just a pair of runs on four hits. The Southern California native would retire 8 batters in a row during one stretch from the second through the fourth. The PaddleHeads now have a 4-0 record in games started by Mogollon this season.

The PaddleHeads offense was able to give the bullpen some breathing room down the stretch thanks in large part to Clay Fisher. For the second consecutive night, Fisher would come to the plate with the bases loaded, and two outs late in the game. This time as a pinch hitter in the eighth, Fisher would once again come through bringing in a pair with a single to make the score 5-2.

Jose Reyes would also give the PaddleHeads a boost in the top of the ninth inning on an RBI single that scored McClain O'Conner from second base. The native of the Dominican Republic finished the game 2-for-4.

Missoula (31-12) once against held off the streaking Chukars (30-13) with the victory remaining a game clear of Idaho Falls in the Northern Division standings. The PaddleHeads will be in search of their fourth consecutive win Sunday in Game 5 of the series opposite the Raptors (27-16). This late afternoon affair will begin at 4:00 p.m. from Lindquist Field.
