The RoughRiders offense was held in-check Monday as San Antonio took the opening game of the four-game series, 2-1. Frisco starter Blake Beavan (1-3) allowed just two runs on eight hits over 6.1 innings, striking out one. Mitch Moreland had the only RBI for Frisco with an RBI single.

The Missions scored in the second inning to break the scoreless tie and pushed their lead to 2-0 with a run in the sixth frame. Frisco finally found the scoreboard in the eighth inning with Moreland hit an RBI single to score Renny Osuna for Frisco's lone run of the game.

Beavan allowed both San Antonio's runs as Frisco's bullpen kept the Missions scoreless. San Antonio starter Corey Kluber (1-0) earned the win in his Double-A debut throwing six scoreless innings.

Frisco managed just six hits, five singles and one double by Marcus Lemon. Craig Gentry reached base twice on a single and a walk.

The RoughRiders and Missions will face-off in game two on Tuesday at Dr Pepper Ballpark with first pitch at 7 p.m.
