
Miss Pioneer Winner Eager to Get Started

Wilkes-Barre, PA - Winning the first-ever Miss Pioneer competition was just the beginning of a year-long journey for Teresa Muoio, who was selected as Miss Pioneer 2004 during halftime of the team's regular season home finale last Friday. Teresa is anxious to get started in her role as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's spokesperson during the off-season.
"I intend to represent the Pioneers to the best of my ability," said Muoio. "I'm so happy to be involved with a great team and a great group of people. Its very exciting."
Muoio, a Blakeslee native, will be the face of the Pioneers for the team's off-season marketing and community relation's initiatives. Muoio will hold the title of Miss Pioneer through the end of the 2004 season. She will pass the torch during the team's 2004 home finale to Miss Pioneer 2005.
"I think Teresa will do a fantastic job," said Pioneers President/GM Dave Berryman. "Hats off to her and all the young ladies who participated in the competition, and to the fans for their support as well. The interest generated by the contest was far beyond what we were expecting. This is a great thing for Pioneers football."
More than 10,000 votes were cast on the Pioneers website (www.wbspioneers.com
The Pioneers' also announced season tickets for 2004 will be available for sale in the fall, and fans may now add their names to a waiting list. Anyone interested in signing up for the season ticket waiting list may call the team's ticketing department at (570) 270-5811 or (570) 270-3848. Season tickets for 2004 will be available for as little as $40.00.
