Mississippi Braves News Release

PEARL, MS - The Mississippi Braves (29-39, 62-75) committed four errors that led to five unearned runs on Saturday night, and the Chattanooga Lookouts (25-40, 61-73) took full advantage in a 9-3 series-clinching victory at Trustmark Park.

Jonathan Aro (L 3-3) made his second straight start for the M-Braves and let in single runs in the first and second innings and three runs in the third inning. The Lookouts took advantage of two M-Braves errors and collected three hits to take a 5-0 lead. Aro ended up allowing the five runs, but just three earned, on seven hits with no walks and a strikeout.

The Braves finally cracked the scoreboard in the fifth inning on back-to-back doubles from Riley Unroe and Connor Lien. The duo each had two hits on Saturday night and went 4-for-8. They are a combined 12-for-24 in the series with five doubles, two home runs, and seven RBI.

Jordan Harrison took the baton from Aro and worked 3.0 scoreless frames and struck out three, keeping the score at 5-1. Harrison has given up just one run over his last 11.1 innings and four outings.

Chattanooga broke the game open in the eighth inning and struck for four runs to run the lead to 9-2. Two errors and three walks led to the four runs scoring. The M-Braves tacked a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to bring the final score to 9-3.

The M-Braves reached double-digit hits on Saturday, and four players had multiple hits. William Contreras led the way by going 3-for-4 with a run scored.
