Miracle welcome back Baseball Buddies program for 2006

FORT MYERS, FL (April 17, 2006) - The stars of tomorrow can be seen on the field every night at Hammond Stadium. No, it's not only the Fort Myers Miracle Baseball team, it's also the Little Leaguers from around Southwest Florida who take the field with the Miracle as Baseball Buddies.

Miracle Baseball has been offering the Baseball Buddies program since its beginning, 14 seasons ago. Prior to each game a local Little League team will run out onto the field with the Miracle, stand next to them during the National Anthem and get to feel what it was like to be a professional baseball player.

Organized leagues from all across Southwest Florida are encouraged to have their teams enter for a chance to be one of our Baseball Buddies teams this season. Teams must officially sign up for the chance to be a part of the Baseball Buddies Program. The teams that are selected will receive tickets for their players. Additional tickets for coaches and parents will be available to purchase for the night of their Baseball Buddies game.

Although the 2006 Miracle season is under way, there are still dates open throughout the season for Little Leaguers to realize their dream of stepping foot on a professional diamond.

"Little League Baseball plays such an important role in the lives of the kids in our community," said General Manager Steve Gliner. "What better way to give back to our future Miracle players than letting them run out on the field with professional baseball players and having the chance to enjoy the full experience of our National Pastime."

Teams can get entries by calling the Miracle office at 239-768-4210 or going to the Miracle website www.miraclebaseball.com. Entries must include the following: team and league name (including sponsor), manager and coaches names, addresses, phone numbers and all of the players names listed alphabetically with their position as well as the age bracket the team is in. Entries can be faxed to the Miracle office at 239-768-4211 or emailed to baseballbuddies@miraclebaseball.com.
