FORT MYERS, FL (June 6, 2006) - Miracle Baseball has teamed up with Dunkin Donuts to promote reading for kids in Southwest Florida.

The program called "Books and Bats" asks students to read four books over the summer. Students may pick up a bookmark from Lee County public school teachers, Lee County public librarians, the Lee County Sports Complex or Dunkin Donuts locations. They will record what books they have read on the bookmark, then return the completed bookmark to any Lee County Dunkin Donuts (some exceptions may apply). Students will receive their choice of two Dunkin donuts or a Dunkin Donuts smoothie and two tickets to a Miracle Baseball game for Monday, June 19 or Tuesday, July 18.

The Miracle have promoted summer reading with the "Books & Bats" program for the past seven years and this is the first year Dunkin Donuts has been a sponsor.

"With our two Education Days this season and now our Books & Bats reading program during the summer sponsored by Dunkin Donuts the Miracle are showing their commitment to the schools," said Director of Sales and Marketing Terry Simon. "This is a program that rewards kids for learning during the summer and we hope all kids take advantage of this during the summer."

Miracle tickets can be used by both children and parents. All students 12 years of age and younger are eligible to participate in the "Books & Bats" program. Students can participate as many times as they want during the summer. For more information contact the Miracle office at 239-768-4210.
