SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forward Michael Keranen (pronounced kair-A-nehn) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Keranen, 25 (1/4/90), has tallied eight points (4-4=8) including two power-play goals and eight penalty minutes (PIM) in 13 games with Iowa this season. He leads the team in goals and scoring and is tied for third with 34 shots. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden recorded 37 points (10-277) with Iowa last season ranking first on the team in assists and tied for second in scoring. Keranen recorded 52 points (17-35R), 47 PIM and a plus-12 rating in 52 games for Ilves Tampere in Finland's Elite League in 2013-14. He ranked tied for first in the league in scoring and tied for second in assists and received the Lasse Oksanen Award given to the best player during the regular season. Keranen was signed as a free agent by the Wild on June 5, 2014, and has not appeared in an NHL game. He will wear sweater No. 36 with Minnesota.

Minnesota plays at Pittsburgh tonight at 6:30 p.m. CT on NBC Sports Network and KFAN 100.3 FM.
