Tampa Bay Lightning Reassign Brian Hart and Daniel Walcott to Syracuse Crunch

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned forward Brian Hart and defenseman Daniel Walcott to the Syracuse Crunch from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL, Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Hart, 21, has appeared in 12 games, notching six goals, since being assigned to the Swamp Rabbits on Oct. 21. Prior to his professional career, the 6-foot-3, 222-pound forward skated in 37 games with the Harvard Crimson during the 2014-15 season, recording seven goals and 17 points. The Cumberland, Maine native ranked sixth on the Crimson for goals and tied for seventh for points. He played in 98 career games with Harvard over three seasons, recording 18 goals and 50 points.

Hart was drafted in the second round, 53rd overall, by the Lightning in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He was signed to a three-year, two-way NHL contract with the team on June 28.

Walcott, 21, has skated in three games with the Swamp Rabbits, accumulating 10 penalty minutes, since being reassigned on Nov. 10. He has also appeared in two games with the Crunch this season, posting two penalty minutes. The defenseman played in 54 games last season with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, recording seven goals and 41 points to go along with 40 penalty minutes. He ranked first on the Armada among defensemen for goals, assists and points. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound defenseman ranked fifth on the club with a +20 rating. Walcott also skated in six playoff games, notching a goal and four points.

The Ile Perrot, Quebec native appeared in 121 career QMJHL games over two seasons with Blainville-Boisbriand, collecting 17 goals and 80 points during that stretch. He made his professional debut last year with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League at the end of the season.

The Lightning acquired Walcott in a trade with the New York Rangers on June 1 in exchange for a 2015 seventh-round draft pick.
