
Minnesota Lynx Waive Forward Tamara Bowie

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx released forward Tamara Bowie today. Bowie was signed by the Lynx as a free agent on March 27. Minnesota's training camp roster now stands at 15 players overall after Kristen Rasmussen reported earlier today.
Bowie averaged 5.7 ppg in three preseason games for the Lynx, including one start versus Connecticut.
Bowie, a 5-foot-11 forward from Ball State, was originally drafted by the Washington Mystics in the third round (36th overall) of the 2003 WNBA draft. Bowie closed out her career at Ball State as the Cardinals' all-time leading scorer (2,091 career points) and was named Mid-America Conference Player of the Year twice in her four-year collegiate career.
The Minnesota Lynx will open their 10th Anniversary Season on May 18, 2008, against the Detroit Shock, presented by Best Buy. The first 5,000 fans will receive a T-shirt courtesy of U.S. Bank.
