Indiana Fever News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever waived Jennifer Humphrey and Constance Jinks from its preseason training camp on Tuesday.
Humphrey, a center from the University of Kentucky, was waived for the second straight year from the Fever camp. Jinks, a guard out of UNLV who was participating in her third WNBA training since being drafted by the Houston Comets in 2003, was one of the Fever's top preseason scorers with 8.7 points per game. Humphrey and Jinks each participated in all three Indiana exhibition contests.
The Indiana training camp roster includes 14 active players, with the arrival of reserve point guard K.B. Sharp. Three veteran players - Katie Douglas, Ebony Hoffman and Tammy Sutton-Brown - remain overseas and are expected to arrive in Indianapolis later this week.
Indiana's regular season opener is May 17 at Conseco Fieldhouse against the Washington Mystics (7:00 p.m.). Led by WNBA All-Stars Tamika Catchings, Douglas and Sutton-Brown, the Fever bids for its first WNBA Finals appearance after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in two of the past three seasons. Season tickets are available at FeverBasketball.com or by calling (317) 917-2500.
