MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx announced the signing of five new honorary members to their roster to create the Minnesota Jr. Lynx Dream Team. The members are Aniya, 13, from Minneapolis; Asia, 9, from Minneapolis; JaZarria, 13, from Blaine; Kaia, 10, from Dayton; and Sumaya, 10, from Minneapolis.

Each new member will have the opportunity to virtually watch an upcoming Lynx practice and participate in mentorship opportunities throughout the season.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Twin Cities mentors were given the opportunity to nominate youth through an application process that included submissions about why each girl should be selected for the Jr. Lynx Dream Team and why they are passionate about the Minnesota Lynx and basketball.

Each team member has overcome adversity using the sport of basketball for good. Basketball has served as the bridge and connector in making new friends, cultivating strong relationships with a Big Sister, and ultimately using the sport to grow in self-confidence.

Jr. Lynx Dream Team members will officially sign their contracts on Monday, June 28 at 11 a.m. CT during a virtual press conference. Media advisory to be issued.
