Minnesota Lynx News Release

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx will return to Cedarcrest-Southmoor Elementary School in Baton Rouge, La., today to kick off an exciting weekend that will close with a preseason game against the Los Angeles Sparks on the campus of Louisiana State University at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the LSU ticket office or by going online to www.lsusports.net.

Angela Taylor, Lynx Vice President of Business Operations, and Prowl, the Lynx mascot, will visit the school to invite students to Sunday's game.

During Sunday's game, which will feature reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year Seimone Augustus' return to the LSU campus, the Lynx will make a $2,000 donation to Cedarcrest-Southmoor Elementary for textbooks and supplies.

Nearly one month after Hurricane Katrina, the Minnesota Timberwolves & Lynx, along with Northwest Airlines and Hope for the City, delivered four-and-a-half tons of food and supplies to evacuees living in Baton Rouge. During that relief flight, the Timberwolves and Lynx delivered gifts and supplies to Cedarcrest-Southmoor, which had formed a partnership with Minnewashta Elementary in Excelsior, Minn., that still exists today.

"Through the disaster of Hurricane Katrina, great partnerships have formed between Baton Rouge and Minnesota," Taylor said. "In particular, the Minnesota Lynx had the privilege of visiting the students of Cedarcrest-Southmoor Elementary during a relief flight in 2005. We are pleased to re-visit our new friends this weekend."

The Lynx will open the 2007 season at the Indiana Fever on May 19 and will play their home opener on Sunday, May 20, at 6 p.m. against the Sacramento Monarchs at the Target Center. Season ticket plans and mini-plans are on sale now and can be reserved calling a sales representative at 612-673-8400 or by visiting www.lynxbasketball.com.
