Minnesota Lynx News Release
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has signed forward Nneka Enemkpali to a seven-day contract.
Enemkpali, a 6-1 forward, was drafted by Seattle in the third round (26th overall) of the 2015 WNBA Draft but sat out the season while recovering from a knee injury suffered during her senior season at the University of Texas. The Seattle Storm signed Enemkpali to their 2016 training camp roster but waived her prior to the start of the regular season.
At the time of her senior season injury, Jan. 19, 2015, Enemkpali was leading the Big 12 in rebounds, (10.6 per game) and double-doubles, (9). Despite the early end to her collegiate career, Enemkpali finished at Texas ranked ninth all-time in the Longhorns record book in total rebounds, (899) and 30th in points, (1,116).
Enemkpali will not play in the Lynx game at Dallas today. Tipoff is at 3:30 p.m. CT.
