
Minnesota Lynx Re-Sign Guard Layshia Clarendon

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - Minnesota Lynx Head Coach and General Manager Cheryl Reeve today announced the team has re-signed guard Layshia Clarendon. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Clarendon rejoins the team after appearing in four games for Minnesota, where they averaged 11.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. The 5-9 guard has started in the Lynx last three contests, her most notable game came against Atlanta where he scored a season-tying 14 points on 5-of-7 field goals and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line, as well as five assists, two rebounds and one steal. Clarendon has dished out a total of 18 assists with Minnesota, including a season-high 6 in her last contest against Washington on June 8.
The nine-year veteran has recorded a career average of 7.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists with play in Minnesota, New York, Connecticut, Atlanta and Indiana. Clarendon was selected with the ninth overall pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft out of the University of California and played one contest with New York this season before joining Minnesota.
