
Minnesota Lynx Finalize 2006 Opening Night Roster

Minneapolis/St. Paul - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team's 2006 Opening Night roster. The Lynx finalized their 11-player active roster by releasing forward Brittany Davis and guard Jess Strom.
The 2006 roster includes three WNBA rookies: guard Seimone Augustus (first round, 1st pick), guard Shona Thorburn (first round, 7th pick) and guard Megan Duffy (third round, 36th overall pick). Also new to the Lynx 2006 roster is free-agent forward Adrian Williams, who last played in the WNBA during the 2004 season. She spent the 2005 season playing in Korea.
Minnesota will open the regular season on Tuesday, May 23 against the reigning Eastern Conference champion Connecticut Sun at Target Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. CDT. All 2006 Minnesota Lynx games will be broadcast on the radio home of the Lynx, BOB 106.1 FM. The broadcasts will include both pre and post-game shows hosted by Brian Sieman, who returns for his fifth season as the Lynx play-by-play radio voice.
BOB 106 (KLCI 106.1 FM), also the radio home of the University of Minnesota women's basketball program, is owned by Milestone Radio, LLC and is broadcast out of Elk River, Minnesota.
