
Minnesota Lynx Announce Local Broadcast Partners for 2010 Season

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team's local broadcast partners for the upcoming 2010 WNBA season. Fox Sports North, beginning its 12th-consecutive year of broadcasting Lynx games, will televise locally a total of six Lynx games this summer, while BOB 106 will carry all 34 games on radio.
"We are truly grateful for our wonderful partners," said Conrad Smith, Lynx Chief Operating Officer. "Because of both Fox Sports North and BOB 106's commitment to our franchise, fans will get the opportunity to catch the best women's basketball in the world six times on television and 34 times on radio throughout the 2009 WNBA season. 2010 is shaping up to be the best season of Lynx basketball yet and we're really excited to have every game, both home and away, available to our loyal fans."
Fox Sports North's six-game schedule begins with Lindsay Whalen's return to Minnesota on Sunday, May 16 vs. Katie Smith and the Washington Mystics. Other highlights of the Fox Sports North television schedule include Tamika Catchings and the defending Eastern Conference Champions Indiana Fever on Sunday, June 6, Diana Taurasi and the defending WNBA Champion Phoenix Mercury on Saturday, July 24 and the Lynx' regular-season home finale on Sunday, Aug. 15 vs. San Antonio. Marney Gellner will call the play-by-play alongside Lea B. Olsen.
BOB 106 returns for its fifth-straight season as Minnesota's radio partner. All 34 regular-season games will broadcasted live over the air, as well as on wnba.com. Lynx broadcaster Alan Horton enters his third year calling games for the Lynx.
The Minnesota Lynx will tip off the team's 12th season of basketball in the Twin Cities with their Home Opener on Sunday, May 16 at 6:00 p.m. against the Washington Mystics.
