Both players earn their second MISL honor this season for their outstanding play during three Wave victories this past week. Vorberg was strong in goal in the three Wave victories, saving an impressive 38-of-46 shots faced against Philadelphia, St. Louis and Chicago. Hewerton Signs Contract Extension: The Milwaukee Wave, of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), announced Friday, February 18, that a three-year contract has been signed by forward Hewerton Moreira, known as Hewerton, (pronounced ever-ton.) Originally from Santos, Brazil, Hewerton was selected from the San Diego Sockers in the January 5 Dispersal Draft. As the second round, 14th overall pick, the 25-year-old brings the promise of great potential during his rookie season. Drafted as a target player from San Diego, Hewerton played in 10 games, scoring five goals and one assist, for six points in 2004. Wearing number 26, he collected his first goal of the season in a win against the Baltimore Blast, February 13.
