Cleveland Force News Release
FORCE ROLLING:
The Force is currently on a season-best three game-winning streak. The three game-winning streak is the longest winning streak of the season as well as the longest since Cleveland won four straight last season. The four game-winning streak went from March 13 when the Force shutout the Dallas Sidekicks 4-0 until March 28, 2004 when the Force defeated the St. Louis Steamers 8-4. The four game-winning streak was the longest of the 2003-04 season for Cleveland.
FORCE STREAKS:
Midfielder Robbie Aristodemo has appeared in 95 straight games. Aristodemo appeared in 72 straight games for the San Diego Sockers. Defender Genoni Martinez has recorded at least a point in each of his first four games with the Force. He know has 10 points in four games. Forward Chris Handsor has recorded at least a point in the last four games and five of the last six games. Chris has also recorded at least one goal in the last four games and five of the last six games and has posted two goals in two of those games.
SUPER SUNDAY:
Three Force players experienced milestones during Sunday's 8-2 victory over the Philadelphia KiXX. Defender Genoni Martinez recorded his 800th career point on his first of three assists and first of four points in the game. Martinez now has 803 career points and 10 points in four games with the Force. Defender Ryan Hall recorded his first career MISL goal when he scored the first goal of the game. Forward Chris Handsor was the last Cleveland player to achieve a milestone when he tallied his 500th career point when he scored his lone goal of the game in the second quarter. Handsor had two assists prior to his goal and then he added a third assist in the fourth quarter to give him 501 career points. Handsor and Martinez also tied a season-high for points in a game with four, which both did in the game on Sunday. Chris and Genoni also tied defender Rene Rivas for the season-best for assists in a game with three. Rivas posted his three assists back on December 3, 2004 while Handsor and Martinez tied it on Sunday.
PARTING WAYS:
The Force placed defender Wendell Regis on waivers on Monday, February 21, 2005. Regis, a 34-year old native of West Indies, signed a one-year contract plus an option year on October 13, 2004 Wendell appeared in 17 games this season for the Force and recorded three goals and one assist for a total of four points. In addition, he tallied 34 blocks.
