
Force places defender on waivers

CLEVELAND, OHIO - Cleveland Force President and General Manager Paul Garofolo today announced the team has placed defender Wendell Regis on waivers.
Regis, a 34-year old native of West Indies, signed a one-year contract plus an option year on October 13, 2004 Wendell appeared in 17 games this season for the Force and recorded three goals and one assist for a total of four points. In addition, he tallied 34 blocks.
"We appreciate the time we had with Wendell. However with the acquisition of Genoni Martinez, Matt Johnson and the development of Ryan Hall it simply became a numbers game with our roster" stated Garofolo.
Prior to playing for Cleveland, Regis spent the last two seasons with the Baltimore Blast and was a part of two MISL Championships. In his two seasons in Baltimore, Wendell notched five goals and added three assists for a total of eight points while recording 78 blocks. He was named to the MISL International All-Star team last season. Wendell has also played for the Harrisburg Heat.
In addition to his MISL career, Regis has played for the Hershey Wildcats in the A-League. Wendell was a member of the Trinidadian Under-23 Olympic Qualifying Team. He is a graduate of Howard University.
