OVERALL ‚¬Â¦The Admirals and Stars return to action tonight at the Cedar Park Center in Austin, TX for game five of their best-of-seven West Division Semifinals. The Ads tied the series at two with a 3-2 win on Wednesday night. Milwaukee finished the regular season with 102 points and earned the first seed, while Texas captured the fourth seed with 92 points. This is the ninth consecutive season the Ads have qualified for the post-season and the 31st time in 34 years that Milwaukee has hit the ice in the playoffs. Including Thursday's game the team's all-time playoff record stands at 95-125 and since joining the AHL in 2001 the Admirals have tallied a 49-39 mark with a 22-22 record on the road.

THE SERIES SO FAR ‚¬Â¦The teams split the two games in Milwaukee as the Ads took a 5-2 win in game one, while the Stars responded with a 3-1 victory in game 2. Gabriel Bourque finished the first game with two goals and three assists, while Chris Mueller chipped in a pair of goals and two assists as well to pace the Milwaukee offense. On Saturday night the Admirals jumped out a 1-0 lead, but Texas scored three unanswered goals to earn the win. Richard Bachman stopped 29 of 30 shots to earn the win. In game 4 the Admirals jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but again the Stars scored three straight to take a 3-2 OT win. Travis Morin got the game-winner in overtime, while Brad Lukowich tied the game with just 21 seconds to play. On Wednesday night the Ads picked up goals from Bourque, Taylor Beck, and Mark Van Guilder and this time held off a late charge by Texas for a 3-2 victory to even the series.

LEADING THE CHARGE ‚¬Â¦Admirals forwards Gabriel Bourque and Chris Mueller continue to lead the offensive charge for the team. Bourque scored his fourth goal of the playoffs in game four, while Mueller assisted on a pair of markers to help guide the Admirals to the win. Bourque leads the team in playoff scoring with eight points (4g-4a), which includes at least a point in every game. Mueller has seven points in the four games (3g-4a) and is also +6. Their output shouldn't come as too much of a surprise as they were both at the top of the team's scoring during the regular season. Mueller paced the club with 26 goals and 50 points, while Bourque was third on the team and tops among rookies with 18 markers.

SPREADING THE WEALTH ‚¬Â¦One of the keys to victory last night for the Admirals was the scoring they received beyond Bourque and Mueller. Mark Van Guilder and Taylor Beck also lit the lamp for Milwaukee, while seven different Ads found their way onto the scoresheet, which is more than they had when they scored five goals in game one. Beck's goal was the first for him as a professional, having just joined the team following the completion of his junior career, while Van Guilder's tally was his first of the playoffs.

STATS AND STUFF ‚¬Â¦All-time in game number five the Admirals are 13-16, including a 3-6 mark since joining the AHL. Milwaukee has won their last two game fives, but, ironically, they have never won a series when winning the fifth game (0-9), but they are 4-4 when they lose game 5. The Ads have notched a 6-7 series record when they pull out a win in game four and are 2-6 lifetime when tied at two games apiece in a series.

TALL IN NET ‚¬Â¦The Admirals continue to get strong goaltending from rookie netminder Jeremy Smith. Although he suffered the loss in game three, he turned aside 37 shots in the game, including 20 in the third period and overtime. Then in game four he posted 30 saves to earn the victory and now has a 2.43 goals against average and .920 save percentage in the post-season. Named co-MVP of the Kelly Cup Playoff with Cincinnati last season, Smith put together a successful first year in Milwaukee. The Dearborn, MI native finished the regular season with a 16-8-2 record to go along with a 2.26 GAA, a .921 save % and a pair of shutouts.

BREAKING THE TREND ‚¬Â¦The Admirals finally bucked the trend and held on to win after scoring first last night. In the previous three games, the team that went up 1-0 came out on the losing end, but the Admirals were able to hold the advantage they received on Gabriel Bourque's first period tally. During the regular season Milwaukee managed a 27-3-3-4 record when scoring first, while the Stars posted a 28-7-2-2 mark. In post-season play the Admirals hold a 35-6 record when scoring the first goal.

SPECIAL TEAMS ‚¬Â¦With the exception of game one where each team posted one power play goal, the team that has scored the most with the man-advantage has been victorious. In game two the Stars outdid the Admirals 2-1 on the power-play and won 3-1; in game three Texas had the lone PP tally of the night and took a 3-2 win, while last night it was the Admirals who had the advantage with the power-play, scoring two to the Stars' one. Given that these two teams were the most disciplined teams in the AHL this season, it's ironic that nine of the combined 21 goals have come on the power-play.

WELCOME BACK ‚¬Â¦Admirals forward Kelsey Wilson has been cleared to play and may be back in the line-up for the first time since being injured on April 1 against Houston. In that game Wilson broke the Admirals AHL record for most games played with 294. The Sault Ste Marie, ON native was on a five game point streak prior to the injury, which matched a career best. Currently in his fourth campaign with the Ads, Wilson posted 22 points on ten goals and 12 assists in the regular season.

OVER THE AIR AND ON THE WEB ‚¬Â¦For the fourth consecutive season Sportsradio 1250 WSSP will serve as the Admirals flagship station with Aaron Sims calling all of the hard-hitting end-to-end action. In addition, the team has a one-hour hockey magazine dubbed "Milwaukee Admirals Center Ice" that airs every Monday from 6-7 pm on WSSP.
