Millin and Pacey Traded to Minnesota
October 20, 2004 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Toronto Rock News Release
The National Lacrosse League held the 2004 Minnesota Expansion Draft on Tuesday October 20, 2004. The new yet-to-be named Minnesota franchise selected 10 players to add to their roster, 1 from each of the League's respective franchises. Selected 9th overall in the draft, from the Toronto Rock was newly acquired forward Rusty Kruger. Kruger was added to Toronto's roster as a part of the blockbuster trade in July of this year that saw Steve Toll, Darryl Gibson and Anthony Cosmo heading to San Jose for the 2005 season.
To keep forward Rusty Kruger on the Rock's roster, Head Coach Terry Sanderson has completed a deal with the Minnesota expansion franchise. Kruger will remain in Toronto and in exchange Ken Millin and Eric Pacey will head to Minnesota for the 2005 season.
Millin has been with the Toronto Rock since the team's inception in 1999. He sat out the 2003 season with a knee injury but returned for 14 games last season. In 6 years, Millin has played in 51 games, amassing 75 points on 33 goals and 42 assists. Eric Pacey played 1 game in 2004 after being signed to the Toronto as a free agent late in the season. In 25 career NLL games during three seasons with Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto, he recorded 28 penalty minutes and 71 loose balls.
"Ken Millin has contributed a great deal to this organization over the years and his presence on and off the floor will be missed. Eric Pacey has played throughout the League for a few years and will continue to develop into a strong defenseman in the coming years. I'd like to thank both of them for their contributions to the Rock last season and wish them both all the best in Minnesota." Terry Sanderson, Toronto Rock Head Coach and General Manager.
