October 20, 2004 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
San Jose Stealth News Release

SAN JOSE - San Jose Stealth Managing Director, General Manager and Head Coach Johnny Mouradian announced today that the organization has acquired goaltender Anthony Cosmo from the Toronto Rock, completing a trade that took place on July 27.

Cosmo serves as the player to be named later in a trade that sent forwards Rusty Kruger (selected by Minnesota yesterday in expansion draft), Josh Sanderson and defenseman Phil Sanderson to Toronto for forward/defenseman Steve Toll, defenseman Darryl Gibson, the first pick (third overall in 2004 Draft) and the second pick (12th overall in 2004 Draft).

Cosmo, 26, led the National Lacrosse League in Goals Against Average (10.39) and finished fourth in Save Percentage (.766). Over his four year NLL career he has accumulated a 10.16 GAA and a 78.07 Save Percentage in 53 games.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound native of Thorold, Ont. has played in three Champion's Cup games with Toronto in his young career, winning two of them. "Coz" signed as a free agent with Toronto in 1999. He recently played for the champion Canadian National team in the Heritage Cup on Oct. 16 and participated in the Mann Cup in Sept., playing for the Victoria Shamrocks.

"We are excited to have Anthony as one of our three goaltenders going into the 2005 season," said Mouradian. "Just like Toll and Gibson, Cosmo has experience in championship games, which will be very valuable for our team."
