
Milk... Does the Captains Good in 7-5 Victory

Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) - The Lake County Captains (34-26, 65-64) used a walk-off two run homerun from the Milk Man Jordan Smith to defeat the South Bend Silver Hawks (30-30, 65-65) by a final of 7-5 in 10 innings. In the tenth, Francisco Lindor walked with one out to bring up Jordan Smith, and Smith won the ballgame, with his eighth homerun of the season, to deep right field.
South Bend scored in the first inning. Sean Jamieson singled and moved to third on a two base throwing error. Jamieson eventually scored on a groundout by Tom Belza. The score was 1-0. The score became 2-0 in the top of the third inning, on another RBI groundout by Belza and it was 2-0 Silver Hawks.
In the bottom of the third inning, Lake County got on the scoreboard. Luigi Rodriguez walked and stole second base and later scored on a Jose Ramirez groundout. The score was 2-1 South Bend. In the sixth it became a 3-1 game when Matt Helm doubled and scored on a Kerry Jenkins single.
Lake County took the lead in the bottom half of the inning. It was 3-2 when Francisco Lindor doubled and then trotted home on Jordan Smith's first two run homer of the night and the Captain had the 4-3 lead. South Bend re-took the lead in the top of the seventh inning. With the bases loaded, Tom Belza singled home a run to tie the game at 4-4. South Bend took the lead when the third passed ball of the night got away from Jake Lowery and the Hawks led 5-4.
Lake County tied the game in the bottom of the eighth inning. The bases were loaded and there was one out when Jake Lowery came to the plate. Lowery hit a line drive to deep left field. The sac fly tied the game at 5-5 and set the stage for the bottom of the tenth inning.
RHP Nick Pasquale (2-0) started the game one for the Captains. Pasquale pitched five and two thirds innings, he allowed three runs, two runs were earned, on eight hits. Pasquale did not walk a batter and didn't strikeout anyone as well and did not get a decision. Louis Head entered in relief and pitched three and one third innings, he allowed four hits, two un-earned runs, two walks and three strikeouts. Enosil Tejada (3-1) entered in the tenth inning and pitched a scoreless inning to pick up the win.
RHP Conrad Flynn (0-0) got the nod in game two for the Silver Hawks and did not factor into the decision. Flynn went six and two thirds innings, allowing five hits, four earned runs, two walks and four strikeouts. He also allowed the first homerun to Jordan Smith. South Bend used two pitchers to before they handed the ball to Alex Capaul (1-4) in the tenth. Capaul took the loss after he pitched one third of an inning, he allowed one hit, two earned runs, and one walk. The one hit was the walk-off homer by Smith.
On Saturday, The Captains will travel to Midland, Michigan to open a four game series with the Great Lakes Loons. The Captains will send LHP Shawn Morimando (6-5, 3.73) to the mound to face LHP Greg Wilborn (2-2, 4.54) for the Loons. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
