Military Appreciation Night this Thursday
October 17, 2022 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
The Moose Jaw Warriors are excited to welcome military members into the Hangar on Thursday night when the team takes on the Regina Pats.
"Hosting a Military Appreciation Night is something that's new to us this year. Being able to bring together members of our local military to honour and recognize them is something we look forward to doing on Thursday," Warriors director of business operations Jaret Schneider said.
The organization's first ever Military Appreciation Night will see members of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, 15 Wing Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan Dragoons, Royal Canadian Legion and Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry honoured prior to the Trans-Canada Clash game at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
"To be able to put a night like this together to say thank you to those who served and shine a light on them is important to our organization," Schneider added.
The game will also feature a silent auction on the concourse with some special memorabilia for fans to bid on. All the proceeds will be donated to Support Our Troops.
As part of the Snowbirds 50th Anniversary Reunion celebrations happening this week, fans attending Thursday's game are asked to wear red and white.
Tim Hortons is the game night sponsor and will be handing out $2 gift cards to the first 100 fans through the door and will be giving away free coffee for a year during the second intermission.
The Warriors and Pats face-off at 7 p.m. on Thursday night.
