Toronto Argonauts News Release
Mississauga - Legendary Offensive Lineman Miles Gorrell will don the Double Blue for the first time in his 20 year CFL career. Gorrell, who joins the team after a season as Director of Canadian Personnel with the Calgary Stampeders, brings with him a wealth of experience and insight. The five-time divisional All-Star who sits third in the history books for games played (321), will join the Argonauts as a consultant to assist personnel staff in preparation for the upcoming 2005 CFL Canadian College Draft. He will remain on contract with the team through April 2005.
Miles Gorrell remarked, "I am very excited to join the Grey Cup champions and help them with Canadian scouting. I have good friends that play there and who run the team. I am thrilled to a get a chance to work with Adam Rita, Greg Mohns, Nick Volpe, Pinball Clemons and the entire coaching staff."
Greg Mohns, Toronto Argonauts Director of Player Personnel, commented from Tampa, Florida, where he is currently at NFL Europe training camps. "We are extremely pleased to be able to bring in a great former CFL player to help in our CFL draft preparations. The opportunity became available with the change in ownership and staff in Calgary. Miles had been working all Fall in scouting talent. This gives us another set of eyes and ears to add to our equation. To have as many evaluations as possible on a player is a huge asset and this gives us the opportunity to tap into Miles' expertise and blend it with what Adam Rita, Nick Volpe, our coaches and myself have been doing."
The 2004 Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts are North America's oldest professional football club, having celebrated their 130th anniversary in 2003.
