Ottawa Renegades News Release

OTTAWA – Four Ottawa Renegades were voted as 2004 Intergold – CFLPA Pro Players Division All-Stars, honours that were selected by players, coaches and fans who voted three offensive stars and one defensive player as Eastern Division standouts.

Renegades offensive linemen George Hudson and Val St. Germain joined receiver Yo Murphy and defensive tackle Jerome Haywood as Eastern All-Stars.

Votes were accumulated by ballot from coaches and players of each team, while fans voted on the CFL Pro Players web site (http://www.cflpa.com). Players must have played at least 12 games to have been eligible for the honour.

Hudson started every game but one for Ottawa and was a rock at the centre position. The 6-foot-4, 310-pound non-import product of New Mexico State is a five-year CFL veteran, who only missed the Week 12 contest against the B.C. Lions in September due to a back injury. St. Germain, who just re-signed with the Renegades, was one of the two offensive guards selected as an East All-Star.

Murphy was the Renegades' leading receiver, hauling in a team-high 61 catches for 1,090 yards and six touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 187-pound California native -- a 12-year professional (CFL, XFL, NFL and NFL Europe) – will also return with his two other All-Star counterparts.

Haywood, a two-time CFL Lineman of the Week in 2004, had 46 tackles and a quarterback sack last season. The product of San Diego State has missed only one game over the past two seasons – starting on the interior defensive line for 35 of the past 36 Renegades games.
