Midland, TX - Midland starter Joe Boyle struck out 12 over five innings as the RockHounds defeated the Arkansas Travelers, 13-4 on Friday night. Boyle was making his second start in the A's organization after being acquired from the Reds in a trade two weeks ago. The Travs took the lead just three batters into the game but never led again after the 'Hounds answered with three in the second. Jonatan Clase had two hits, a walk and a stolen base for Arkansas while Spencer Packard remained hot with two more knocks for his sixth consecutive multi-hit effort.
Moments That Mattered
* The Travs cut the lead to one with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth only to see the RockHounds immediately answer with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
* Josh Morgan homered opening the sixth inning and Matt Scheffler followed with a single. Leo Rivas then blasted a double but Scheffler was thrown out at the plate and the Travs would not score again.
