Dickey-Stephens Park, North Little Rock, AR - RHP Kazuhito Tadano (1-0) and two other pitchers combined on an eight-hitter as the Midland RockHounds (7-2) blanked the Arkansas Travelers (4-8) to cap a three-game series. Tadano earned the win with six scoreless innings of work allowing just four hits and no walks while striking out eight. Arkansas LHP Daniel Davidson (0-2) was the tough-luck loser allowing just two runs on three hits and a walk in six innings. The Travelers outhit the RockHounds 8 to 7, but the Travs also left seven men in scoring position in dropping two of three to Midland.

After the first inning passed without incident, Midland 1B Vasili Spanos lined a one-out triple to right-center in the second inning. Richie Robnett bounced out to second base knocking Spanos home for a 1-0 Midland lead.

The Hounds took advantage of a leadoff double by Myron Leslie in the third inning for a 2-0 lead. On an 0-2 pitch Leslie doubled to left field and moved to third on a one-out single by SS Gregorio Petit. Davidson got Danny Putnam to roll to second base and 2B Adam Morrissey attempted to start a double play. Putnam beat Ryan Leahy's relay throw allowing Leslie to score from third base. Davidson went on to retire 11 of the last 12 batters he faced.

The Travs had chances in the first and second inning against Tadano, but couldn't cash in. LF Aaron Peel, who finished 2-for-4 with two doubles, lashed a two-out double in the first while Porter tripled with two outs in the second. Tadano came through each time and left the runner on base.

Tadano lasted until after the sixth inning when RHP Brad Ziegler took over from the bullpen. Travs 3B Freddy Sandoval and DH Matt Pali began the inning with singles and Porter followed with a fielder's choice that forced Pali at second base. Ziegler then picked Porter off of first base and caught him in a rundown for the second out before striking out Leahy to end the inning.

Travs reliever RHP Jose Arredondo helped get out of the eighth inning after inheriting two runners and one out by striking out the last two batters. Arredondo retired the side in order for the top of the ninth.

Midland had RHP Jeff Gray pitch the eighth and he stranded a runner at first base. Gray returned for the ninth inning and Wilson hit a leadoff single on an 0-2 count. Sandoval then lined a single to center to put the tying runs on base. Pali flied out after failing on a bunt attempt and Porter came to the plate representing the winning run. On a 3-2 count, Gray got Porter to bounce into a 4-6-3 double play to end the game.'

Time of game was 2:38 and the paid attendance was 4,269.

The Travs enjoy a league-wide off day on Wednesday before starting a string of 32 days with a game. Thursday night the Travelers are at Wichita to start a four-game series with the Wranglers. In the opener, RHP Nick Adenhart (2-0, 0.79 ERA) pitches for Arkansas against Wichita RHP Billy Buckner (1-1, 6.00 ERA).
