Orem Owlz starting pitcher Keynan Middleton limited the Ogden Raptors hitters in a 10-4 Raptors loss Wednesday night at Brent Brown Ballpark.
Middleton allowed just one run in five innings with six strikeouts to earn his third win of the season.
The Owlz broke the game open in the sixth. Leading 3-2, Orem had Andrew Daniel and Bo Way lead off with singles. Ryan Seiz, while trying to lay down a sacrifice bunt, reached n an error to load the bases. Zach Houchins then delivered a two run single off the wall in right. After a Wade Wass hit by pitch reloaded the bases, Michael Hermosillo hit a two-run double two batter later for a 7-2 Orem lead.
The Raptors had a couple of big hits in the late innings. Julian Leon hit a solo homer off the scoreboard in right field for his fifth of the season.
Devan Ahart also hit a home run, his first of his career, in the ninth inning.
The Raptors and Owlz continue their four-game series Thursday. Abdiel Velasquez will start for Ogden against Orem's Michael Bolaski. Game starts at 7:05 and can be heard on 97.5 The Zone.
