
Middlebrooks Continues His Power Surge

For the second straight game, a three run home run by Will Middlebrooks made the difference as the Pawtucket Red Sox beat the Buffalo Bisons 9-6. Middlebrooks, the Red Sox top prospect, also singled and walked. For the season, he's hitting .359 with three homers and 9 RBI. Mauro Gomez added a run on a base hit. Jose Iglesias had a run scoring single and Alex Hassan plated a pair with a base hit.
Alex Wilson (1-0) was the winner allowing three runs (1 earned) in 5 innings. Former PawSox standout Bobby Scales went 4-5 with a double and a home run for Buffalo. The victory was the third straight for Pawtucket (6-4). They've won four of their last five.
The series will conclude on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. Doug Mathis (0-1) faces Matt Harvey (0-1).
