
Michaud signs to PTO

Today the Manitoba Moose announced that they have signed goaltender Alfie Michaud (mee-SHOH) to a pro tryout contract.
Michaud, 25, started this season with the Peoria Rivermen of the East Coast Hockey League. In three ECHL matches, he registered two wins and a tie with a 2.27 Avg. and Save Pct. of .908.
The Selkirk, MB native was a member of three teams during the 2001-02 season but played predominantly with the Moose. With Manitoba, Michaud posted a 16-10-1 record with a 2.68 Avg. In the 2002 AHL playoffs, he played in all seven Moose contests and had a 3-4 mark with a 2.69 Avg. The 5'10 goalie recorded four shutouts which represents the highest Moose total for a season and all-time. Michaud set a new franchise record for the longest scoreless streak at 126 minutes and 12 seconds. At the end of Manitoba's regular season, he collected enough three stars selections to win the Three Stars Champion award.
