PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Weather spoiled the start of the second half of the Florida State League season for the St. Lucie Mets and Lakeland Flying Tigers.
Thursday's series opener between the teams was suspended due to inclement weather. The contest was scoreless at the end of the first inning when rain halted play.
The game will resume on Friday at 4 p.m. It will be completed through nine innings. The teams will then break for 30 minutes before playing a seven-inning game to get the series back on track.
Fans with tickets to Thursday's game can exchange those tickets for any other game this season with the exception of July 4th. For $1 fans can upgrade to a Saturday fireworks game.
On Friday, the first 500 fans through the gates get a free American flag themed T-shirt courtesy of Coca-Cola. Gates open at 3:30 p.m.
