
Mets Extend Winning Streak to 7 with 9-6 Win at Jupiter

JUPITER, Fla. - The St. Lucie Mets extended their winning streak to seven games with a 9-6 series opening victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads on Tuesday at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
It is already the third winning streak of at least seven games for the Mets this season.
Omar De Los Santos set the tone, as he hit the first pitch of the game from Gabe Bierman (2-2) for a home run.
The Mets proceeded to post six runs in the second inning to go up 7-0. William Lugo and Justin Guerrera hit RBI singles and Junior Tilien smashed a three-run double with two outs.
Jupiter scored five unanswered against Mets reliever Robert Colina in the second and third innings to cut the Mets lead to 7-5.
Trey McLoughlin (2-1) halted the Hammerheads momentum with 3.1 excellent innings of relief. He only allowed one run over the span, a solo homer to Jorge Caballero.
The Mets added to their lead with a RBI infield single from Tilien in the fourth inning and a RBI single by Carlos Dominguez in the sixth inning to make it 9-6.
Daniel Juarez struck out the side in the seventh inning and Jeffrey Colon pitched two scoreless and hitless innings to finish the game for his first save.
The Mets pounded out 12 hits. Stanley Consuegra went 3 for 4 with a double, walk and run. Tilien was 2 for 4 with four RBI.
The Mets (35-16) and Hammerheads (26-24) meet again on Wednesday. First pitch at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is 6:30 p.m.
