The win advanced the Metros to the semifinals of the prestigious tournament to face bitter rival D.C. United, who defeated the USL Pro Select League Champion Wilmington Hammerheads, 1-0.

Crunch Time Guy: When MetroStars veteran Steve Jolley scored in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Revolution, it marked his third tally of the season. Astonishingly, all of his goals have come after the 80th minute of regulation.
Magic Number: After Saturday's loss to the Revolution, the Metros' magic number of points to clinch a playoff spot remains at 14 with seven regular season matches remaining.
Second Time: Last Saturday marked the second time Eddie Gaven has started for the MetroStars. His first start was, coincidently, the first time that he stepped on the field as a professional when he started for the "Red and Black" against Chicago on June 14th. Coming into today the U-17 standout had played in five contests for the Metros, seeing a total of 102 minutes, registering one goal (an overtime game-winner against D.C. United on July 5th).
Lawrenceville Practice: The MetroStars will hold practice in Lawrenceville, NJ at Zimmer Field on Wednesday, September 17. The practice is scheduled as another grassroots effort by the team to reach out to the non-metropolitan area fans. Practice will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will run until approximately 7:30 p.m. ET.
