Last Time Out: The MetroStars and the Crew last met on July 6 at Crew Stadium in a game that resulted in a 3-2 victory for the MetroStars. Steve Jolley had the game winner and his first goal of the season. Scoring Two Helps: The MetroStars are 8-2-0 this year in league games where they score two or more goals. 75' Minute Says It All: The team is 7-0-0 when leading in the 75' minute. They are 0-8-0 when trailing in the 75'. They are 2-1-2 when tied in the 75'. Scoring First Helps: The team is 7-2-1 when scoring first, but 2-7-1 when the opponents get that first goal. Surviving on the Road: The team is 1-4 in one-goal games at Giants Stadium, but a positive 4-1 on the road. League Leaders: Mamadou Diallo is tied for sixth in MLS in scoring after notching two goals in his performance this past Saturday against New England. The Senegalese giant has 11 goals and 3 assists for 25 points in only 16 games, ranking him first in the league in points per game (1.88). Another part of the New England trade, midfielder Andy Williams is second in MLS with ten assists, and tied for first in primary assists with seven. Due to such prowess on the ball, the Jamaican international is the second most fouled player in MLS (55). The MetroStars are also third in the league with an average home attendance of 19,607. Howard, Petke Named to MLS Starting Lineup for 2002 Pepsi All-Star Game: MetroStars goolakeeper Tim Howard and defender Mike Petke have each been named to the starting eleven for the MLS All-Star team that will face the U.S. National Team in the 2002 Pepsi MLS All-Star Game, to be played Saturday, August 3rd at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC. This marks the third career MLS All-Star selection and second straight for Petke, while Howard will be making his second straight All-Star appearance and his first career start. The game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET live on ABC-TV. Ticket prices range from $27 to $55 for individuals, and $22 to $45 for groups of 20 or more. MetroStars Team Up with New York Power For August 7 Doubleheader: The MetroStars will team up with the WUSA's New York Power in a special doubleheader for area soccer fans on Wednesday, August 7th at the Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale, NY, with the Power hosting the Carolina Courage in a WUSA regular season game that kicks off at 7 p.m. ET, followed immediately by the MetroStars hosting the Columbus Crew in a quarterfinal game of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Tickets for the MetroStars-Power doubleheader are available through the Power box office at 1-866-POWRTIX (1-866-769-7849), through www.nypower.com and at all area Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets are priced at $12 (youths aged 12 and under), $17, $20 and $25.
