MetroStars Promote Four Staff Members

SECAUCUS, NJ (Thursday, January 20, 2005) – The MetroStars announced today that they have promoted Ernesto Motta, Paul Byrne, Lindsay Daywalt and Brian Picinic.

"I am delighted to announce the promotion of Ernesto Motta, Paul Byrne, Lindsay Daywalt and Brian Picinic on behalf of the MetroStars," said MetroStars President and General Manager Nick Sakiewicz. "I am extremely proud of the MetroStars front office, and it's a great day when we get to reward people's hard work and dedication to the club with internal promotions."

Motta, of Union, NJ has been a member of the MetroStars front office staff in varying capacities since the league's inception in 1996, most recently serving as the team's Director of Hispanic Communications, Broadcasting and Affairs since 2000. His new title will be Senior Director of Hispanic Communications, Broadcasting and Affairs. In addition to his office duties, Motta has served as the Hispanic Voice of the MetroStars since 1996.

Byrne, who began with the MetroStars in March of 2002 has been promoted from Manager of Operations to Senior Manager of Operations. Within this capacity, Byrne acts as the liaison between the MetroStars and Giants Stadium and the club's training facility. In addition to this, he works on various special projects. Byrne, a resident of Hoboken, N.J., is a 2002 graduate of Seton Hall University.

Daywalt, a member of the MetroStars staff since March of 2003 has been promoted to Senior Marketing Manager from her former title of Marketing Manager. In addition to her previous responsibilities Daywalt will now also manage the execution of advertising promotions as well as be involved with advertising placement. Daywalt, a resident of Bloomfield, N.J., will earn her MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in May of 2005.

Picinic, who joined the MetroStars on March 1, 2004 has been promoted from Event Marketing Coordinator to Grassroots Marketing Manager. In his new role, Picinic will be responsible for marketing initiatives with the MetroStars Player Development Programs and managing grassroots community events, such as the MetroStars Youth Fantasy Camp, and the Sierra Mist Dribble, Pass & Score nationwide soccer skills competition. A 2001 graduate of Florida State University, Picinic resides in Ho Ho Kus, N.J.
