Springfield, MA - Bruce Landon, president of the Springfield Falcons, announced today that Merrill Lynch will purchase a major season ticket package to help the Falcons launch its season ticket drive. Merrill Lynch has committed to 50 Falcons' youth full-season ticket packages and 10 adult full-season ticket packages for the 2008-09 season.

"Merrill Lynch's commitment to our team is exactly the type of corporate involvement we need to get our important ticket drive off on the right foot," said Landon. "We are very appreciative of their support."

The ticket packages purchased will be used as part of the "Falcons Friends Program," a program that will provide local youth groups throughout the Pioneer Valley and Northern Connecticut with tickets to Falcons' home games throughout the 2008-09 campaign.

"I'm delighted to see that the business community, both here in Springfield and outside of the City, has responded to the call to action starting with Merrill Lynch," said Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. "Clearly, companies like Merrill Lynch recognize and appreciate the Falcons' value, not only in Springfield but the Pioneer Valley and beyond."

The goal of the Falcons' current season ticket package campaign is 500 new packages by June 1st. The Falcons will be entering their 15th American Hockey League season starting during the 2008-09 campaign. Ticket packages for the 2008-09 season are currently on sale and can be purchased at Falcons' home games remaining this year, as well as by calling 413-739-3344.
