Mercury home opener tickets on sale tomorrow

PHOENIX -Tomorrow at 10 a.m., tickets to the 2009 Phoenix Mercury home opener will go on sale to the public. The Mercury tips-off the season on Saturday, June 6 against Western Conference rival, San Antonio at 7 p.m. at US Airways Center.

Lower-level seats are available for just $10 and the first 6,000 people through the doors on opening night will receive a free commemorative t-shirt courtesy of Arizona Lottery.

"Excitement is already building around the upcoming Mercury season and opening night is always so electric. On and off the court, we've got some great things planned that we think fans are going to really enjoy," said Jay Parry, President and COO of the Mercury. "Our match-up against San Antonio is a great way for fans to kick off the summer and not break the bank."

Diana Taurasi, Cappie Pondexter and the Mercury will take on Becky Hammon, Sophia Young and the Silver Stars to begin the team's 13th season. The two top-shooting teams have each owned the Western Conference's best record in the last two seasons, Phoenix in 2007 and San Antonio in 2008.

Single game tickets for the team's remaining home games go on sale Wednesday, April 15.
